Kids Seed Bombs

Get your kiddos interested in the garden early! This fun and easy activity is perfect for all ages, kids and adults alike will enjoy watching seeds emerge and grow into beautiful blooms. There are several methods to creating successful seed bombs, check out our shopping list below, or follow along with our video.

Option 1

This method involves creating a shell around a mixture of soil and your choice of seeds.

Pinch a small amount of clay, the size of a marble. Roll the clay between the palms of your hands

Use your finger to make an indention and fill that indention with potting soil and about three seeds

Seal your seeds by pulling the sides of the clay over top of them and roll it around in your fingers to make it nice and smooth

Let clay air dry for as long as the package says

  • Dr. Earth Motherland All Purpose Planting Mix
  • Newspaper or plastic tablecloth to protect your surface

Option 2

This method requires a blender or food processor and the help of an adult. You'll combine all the ingredients together for a fun and colorful result.
