Enjoy fresh salsa straight from your garden this summer. Plant a veggie bed with tomatoes, peppers, onions, chives and cilantro. Experiment growing different types of tomatoes. If you like chunky salsa choose smaller tomatoes with less juice like Super Sweet 100, or Roma. For juicier salsa, plant large tomatoes like Better Boy or Celebrity. For more colorful salsa, choose a tomato that's a fun color like Yellow Pear, Cherokee Purple or Brandywine. Grow different types of peppers as well. Choose them based on how hot you like your salsa. Jalapenos are medium hot while Habaneros are quite hot.
