Ingredients

  • ½ pound unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • small handful chive blossoms
  • ½ cup chives, diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

Let your butter come to room temperature, leave out for 30-60 minutes.

Harvest a few handfuls of fresh chive stems and blossoms from your garden. Clean and separate.

Dice chive stems finely. Pull apart chive blossom petals and set aside.

Add 1 tablespoon of butter to pan and gently bring to melting point. Add diced chives (not blossoms), garlic powder, and sea salt.

Heat just enough for the fragrances to release but do not let chives brown. Take off heat.

Let butter cool, then collect with spatula and fold into soften butter along with chive blossoms.

Roll your compound butter into a log using wax paper or put into glass jar. Let cool and harden.

Serve with warm bread & enjoy!
