The Procurement Coordinator's primary responsibility is to consolidate orders for the buying team and/or transfer all material needed for landscape installations to ensure timely delivery. The Procurement Coordinator will work directly with the buying team, designers, LD Yard Foreperson, and retail stores, to assure that the fulfillment of install material is being completed within the scheduled time of installation delivery.

Responsibilities 

1. Primary job function of consolidating orders of plant material for the buying team to complete landscape installation projects generated by the landscape sales team.

2. Work with designers to find suitable alternatives or substitutions for plant material that is not available prior to orders being placed with the buying team.

3. Adjust Install Orders as needed to provide accurate plant material and SKU information.

4. Work directly with the buyers to complete orders and delivery of materials to the holding yards or stores for installations.

5. Work with the appropriate buyer for any special orders for projects.

6. Work directly with the vendors to arrange delivery of larger bulk material directly to the jobsite.

7. Communicate with buyers, LD Yard Foreperson, designers and stores on the status of fulfillment on pending LD jobs.

8. Work with LD Yard Foreperson to manage the inventory at the holding yards.

9. Reviews assigned projects weekly to ensure all material is available at the time of the project's delivery.

10. Creates estimates from the plant list and design for projects and completes within 48 hours.

Education/Experience

Education, Prior Work Experience and Specialized Skills and Knowledge:

  • Two-year degree in Horticultural or three (3) years in a garden center role.
  • CCNPro certification is beneficial.
  • Has a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Intermediate level of skill in Outlook and Excel.
  • Point of Sale proficiency.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication ability to interface with multiple store personnel.
  • Requires standing and/or sitting for long periods of time.
  • Ability to multi-task.
