This place in has the BEST service. I know that if I have questions about any kind of plant care or whether they have a certain item in stock, whomever I talk to has never been misinformed in my experience of coming here for over 15 years. They will even help you pick out specific plants to ensure you get the best and most healthy. The last time I came here I bought 1 dozen strawberry starters and some jasmine and the gentleman who helped me actually gently took plants out of my hand and replaced them with ones that he ensured were better and more healthy. He walked us back to our car and helped us load everything in. I told him that was not necessary but he politely and sweetly insisted. I am literally astonished at the excellent level of service. Especially when you compare to Home Depot where nobody acknowledges your existence and you are left to wander the aisles aimlessly until you give up trying. I just want to thank Armstrong for all of the years of providing me with this level of hospitality and being there for all of my gardening necessities. I will also say that I believe this level of care for customers is rare and it is also a reflection on the business management/owners in the way they treat their employees as people seem genuinely happy to be working there so good job everyone!Tahesha K.
Ask for Jesus. He's very helpful and been working there for 20 years so he knows where everything is. It's his home away from home. Selection is good. Spring time you can expect a fresh delivery of Japanese maple specimens. Nice selection of fruit trees, shrubs, and flowers. You might pay a little more than wholesale nurseries, but that's because you get a lifetime warranty on whatever you buy. 10 years from now if it dies, bring it back, they give you a new one.
I myself was on a personal quest to find a yellow trumpet tree. Very rare and hard to find. I hardly see them. Pink trumpets are all over the southbay. To my amazement they had one about 10 feet tall in a 15 gal size for half the price of what a regular nursery would charge.
Jesus loaded into my truck and I was on my way. He helped me secure it too.Martin C.
