The Payroll Coordinator position serves as the main payroll processor for all Armstrong Garden Centers locations. The Payroll Coordinator handles all payroll related functions of the company including processing payroll, taxation forms, and benefits, as well as maintaining employee data, handling payroll questions, and completing any other tasks necessary for monitoring and overseeing a company's payroll process. The ideal applicant must be well-organized, responsive and a strong independent associate capable of balancing multiple requests and projects simultaneously.

What good looks like in this position

  • 3-5 years of ADP- WorkForce Now experience - Required

  • 3-5 years of administrative experience - Required

  • Dynamic and professional communication skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word)

Key Job Functions

  • Full cycle, bi-weekly processing of payroll for approximately 900 associates.
  • The primary processor of all employee functions including, new hires, terminations, change of status, paid time off requests and expense reimbursements.
  • Processing and verification of all related payroll functions including accounting journal entries and benefits administration.
  • Processing and submitting payroll-related information to payroll vendor on a scheduled basis to ensure timely delivery of payroll to employees
  • Monitoring and maintaining information in automated timekeeping system, importing timekeeping data into payroll processing software, providing correct information to payroll vendor resulting in accurate payroll results for employees.
  • Processing employee timekeeping data from the automated timekeeping system to payroll, and reconciling variances utilizing established tools and procedures to ensure timely processing and accurate information.
  • Updating payroll and timekeeping records in conjunction with Human Resources by entering changes into corresponding databases and software, ensuring accurate information for payroll processing. Works with Human Resources department to resolve payroll and timekeeping discrepancies, and answer employee questions to ensure accuracy of information and employee satisfaction.
  • Processes and distributes payroll reports to management and outside agencies to provide information as needed.

Hourly Rate: will commensurate with experience

Physical Environment/Working Conditions

Can requires extensive use of back, legs, knees, arms, feet and hands for lifting, stooping, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, pulling, pushing, reaching overhead, and walking. Unassisted lifting limits up to 50 lbs. Individuals may be required to do any or all of these situations throughout the work day, with an emphasis on walking and standing for a major portion of the day.
