Mayor Lili Bosse of Beverly Hills will cut the ribbon at Greystone Mansion

(April 8, 2014) – In celebration of the grand opening of the Greystone Demonstration Garden in Beverly Hills on Sunday, April 13 at 2 p.m., Beverly Hills Mayor Lili Bosse will be in attendance to cut the red ribbon in support of her Healthy City initiative. For those looking to grow their green thumb, a free class on herbs and veggies, taught by Armstrong Garden Centers, will be held after the dedication ceremony.

“The Greystone Demonstration Garden is an important part of our Healthy City initiative,” says Mayor Lili Bosse. “It brings people together in the outdoors and gets them thinking and talking about healthy food and healthy living. I hope that everyone will take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy gardening in a community setting and learn about the benefits of locally grown, organic food.” Armstrong Garden Centers will also be hosting a plant sale throughout the dedication ceremony, giving back 20% of sales generated to Greystone Mansion. The proceeds will help fund the development and completion of the garden, seating and accommodations, planting supplies and materials, and ongoing free classes. Armstrong Garden Centers has also donated landscaping services, planting and construction materials, irrigation work, and support to the project. Speaking at the ceremony alongside the Mayor will be Gary Jones of Armstrong Garden Centers; Eliberto Gamino of Whole Foods Market of Beverly Hills; and Barbara Linder, the official Greystone Garden Girl. Food and refreshments will be available to enjoy during the ceremony, courtesy of Whole Foods Market.
